Rental regulation IDL-RL-2026-01
Version IDL-RL-2026-01, issued on 30 September 2026. The rental contract cites this version by its number and by this address, which stays reachable unchanged after any later revision. The French text governs.
Version, scope and relation to the contract
This regulation applies to ID Location vehicle rentals confirmed under version IDL-RL-2026-01. You have access to it before signing; the contract states the version number and this address, and your signature records that this text was made available to you and that you accept it.
A later revision receives its own version and its own address: it does not retroactively change a rental already confirmed. This regulation supplements the contract and the terms agreed in writing; it does not replace applicable law and sets aside no mandatory legal provision.
Where the vehicle may be used
The vehicle is used in Switzerland only. Leaving Swiss territory requires ID Location’s prior written agreement and is not covered by the rental contract alone.
Authorised driver
Only the person named in the contract and approved by ID Location drives the vehicle. Lending it, sub-renting it or handing the keys to another driver is excluded without prior written agreement. Identity and licence are checked before handover.
Where the driver is a minor, an adult legal representative is a party to the contract as the renter and the minor appears on it as the authorised driver. The legal representative’s consent is required and its scope is set out in the contract itself.
Mileage
125 km are included per 24-hour rental period. Unless an unlimited-mileage option has been agreed in writing, each further kilometre is charged at 0.39 CHF. The readings at pickup and return are recorded with you.
An unlimited-mileage option exists and is requested before the rental: its availability and price are confirmed with you for your dates, and no amount is published here until the current rate grid carries one.
Fuel
The vehicle is returned with the same fuel level as at handover. The level observed at pickup and at return is documented with you; if it is not returned at the same level, the refuelling actually incurred is charged against evidence.
Extension and late return
An extension takes effect only once ID Location has agreed to it. Request it before the agreed return time, and where possible 24 hours ahead: the vehicle’s availability, the price and the arrangements have to be confirmed again.
Returning the vehicle after the agreed time without an accepted extension is charged at 20 CHF per hour started, under this regulation. That amount covers the unavailability caused by the delay; the same loss is not charged a second time under another heading.
Cancellation
Cancellation is possible. Exact terms, including late cancellation, are communicated when the rental is confirmed.
No automatic, uniform penalty is applied. If a late cancellation causes a real and already committed loss and an advance or deposit has been paid, ID Location may retain the agreed amount corresponding to that loss, with supporting evidence.
Vehicle condition: recorded at pickup and return
The vehicle’s condition is recorded together at pickup and at return, and may be documented with dated photographs or video. That record is the shared reference if there is a disagreement; tell us straight away about anything you believe was recorded incorrectly.
Damage and responsibility
Damage and responsibility terms are confirmed before handover. No dedicated rental-insurance product is currently confirmed for this public offer.
A damage cost is established from a professional diagnosis, a quotation or an invoice and the costs actually incurred and documented. No flat amount is applied instead. A mechanical failure or wear that is not attributable to the renter is not automatically charged to them.
An actual loss of business caused by an immobilisation attributable to the renter may be claimed only to the extent that it is established by concrete evidence and permitted by applicable law.
Repairs and work on the vehicle
The renter does not have the vehicle repaired and has no one work on it without ID Location’s prior agreement. Only a strict safety emergency justifies immediate action; tell us as soon as you can and keep the receipts.
Keys, helmet and accessories
Losing or damaging a key, a helmet or an accessory supplied with the vehicle gives rise to the actual, reasonable cost of replacement or repair, plus the documented direct costs that follow from it. That cost is evidenced by a quotation or an invoice.
Accident, theft or incident
In an accident, theft, act of vandalism or any incident, first get people to safety, call the emergency services or the police where the situation requires it, then contact ID Location. The detailed procedure is on the rental emergency page.
Fines and offences
Fines, offences and parking charges connected with the rental period remain attributable to the renter to the extent provided by applicable law. Administrative handling of a fine file received by ID Location gives rise to a fee of 30 CHF per file processed, separate from the amount of the fine itself.
Prohibited use
The following are excluded: driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, dangerous riding, racing and track use, unauthorised off-road use, any unlawful use, overloading the vehicle, modifying it, sub-renting it and driving by an unauthorised person.
Personal data
The data and documents a rental requires — identity and licence verification, contract, vehicle-condition evidence, accounting, incident file — are handled for the purpose that justifies them. The Privacy page details the categories, the recipients, how long each purpose keeps data and your rights.
Applicable law
Swiss law applies. Mandatory legal provisions, in particular those protecting consumers, apply regardless: no clause of this regulation can set them aside, and a clause that is set aside does not affect the others. If the language versions diverge, the French text governs.
