Montreux–Chillon–Vevey: choose your stops and transport
A visit to Chillon can be enough for a first outing. Decide what you want to visit, then compare scooter, bus and walking without treating the lakeside promenade as a motor route.

First option: Montreux and Chillon
Choose your castle visit time on its official website and leave time for arrival and departure. Chillon describes its location between Montreux and Villeneuve and several access options. If renting a scooter, first agree handover and return; castle tickets and opening times are a separate arrangement.
The bus is a practical option for this visit
The castle states that bus 201 serves the Chillon stop from Vevey, Montreux or Villeneuve. Check the day's timetable and any disruption. A lakeside walk may also be part of your visit on foot; pedestrian or cycling directions do not describe a road authorized for motor scooters.
Adding Vevey while keeping time to return
If Vevey is also in your plans, note the order of visits and the latest time to leave. Choose an essential stop instead of squeezing in too many. Check your road route, permitted parking and weather separately. No complete route here is presented as scooter-tested, and no riding time is guaranteed.
Parking and personal belongings
Chillon warns that parking is limited and recommends public transport. Car-parking information does not establish that your scooter may use the same space. Plan what to carry too: room for a helmet or bag must be checked on the offered vehicle, not inferred from a photo.
Before relying on a scooter
Anyone may submit a request. Acceptance is manual after identity, licence, profile and vehicle checks. Swiss citizens residing in Switzerland have the clearest acceptance path, subject to these checks; other profiles are reviewed case by case. The deposit is determined case by case. If required, its amount is confirmed before the rental.
